So you want to be a travel writer?
Everyone does. And sure, it can be a nice gig. But the more I talk to people about this, the less they seem to understand it. In fact, usually they don’t even know what they talk about when they talk about travel writing. In the Nov./Dec. issue of Poets & Writers, I profiled travel writer Rolf Potts, and tried to sort out the difference between narrative and service, art and advice, and look at what is exactly travel writing is and what it can be.
