Wicked Minnehaha Documentary (Twin Cities Public Television)

When Karen Cooper’s book, When Minnehaha Flowed with Whiskey: A Spirited History of the Falls, came out a few years ago, I was amazed by her research. It was stuff I had never seen in my own delving into the history of Minnehaha Falls.

But Karen is the expert on the place, bar none. She has more than 70 boxes of artifacts collected from the Falls, not to mention countless books and documents. So I was honored to be asked to be part of this documentary for Twin Cities Public Television: Wicked Minnehaha: The Unexpected History of Minnehaha Falls, along with Andy Sturdevant, Tane Danger, Katie Thornton, Chris Montana and Karen herself.

The documentary turned out great. if you want to know more, check out Karen’s Book. One weekends, she also gives tours of the fall, which you can book here. (The last one for 2025 is this weekend). You can also check out her website here: http://www.urbancreek.com/tour/

Or if you want to do a general, self-guided tour of Minnehaha Falls in the meantime, you can check out my tour here: Minnehaha Falls Walking Tour: History and Heritage in Minneapolis’ Crown Jewel
