When I was on the support crew for the Mississippi Guinness World Record attempt in 2023, I met two young filmmakers, Alex Maier and Amy Robin. The couple runs Wilderness Mindset, a film company that makes documentaries on the outdoors. That same year, they released “Greybeard: The Man, The Myth, The Mississippi”, about Dale Sanders, who set the record for the oldest person to paddle the Mississippi River at age 87.
Amy and Alex were tireless in their work documenting the 2023 Mississippi Speed Record. After recording countless hours of interviews and footage of the source to sea race against time, in 2024, they released the film, Mississippi Speed Record: And Epic Adventure.
